In Abu Dhabi, my weekend days off fall on Friday and Saturday. So Thursday here is like Friday in most other places; it is the day prior to the weekend. I am still trying to get used to it. It is weird starting the work week on a Sunday. A lot people here work six days from Saturday to Thursday. Our construction contractors work these same six-day work week. Among the three of us in my office, we will take turns working Saturdays so someone is there in our office if any issue should arise concerning our construction projects. Until I get my UAE driver's license, I will not be working any Saturdays.
The following are pictures from the past two weeks:
My very first impression of Abu Dhabi as I step off the plane at the Abu Dhabi airport:
Air race "obstacle" course at the Corniche area.
Ongoing high-rise construction in downtown Abu Dhabi.
At the Corniche.
A few pix around my apartment complex:
The long-term apartment part of the complex. If you count 8 floors up, that is where I live - with the balcony.
The Sheikh Zayed Mosque, which I get a good view of during my night walks around the Park Rotana complex.
Fresh flower decorations, changed every couple of days, at the coffee shop in the hotel side of the complex.
The hotel lobby.
Are there gambling Casinos in Abu Dhabi?
